As I mentioned, they hit just a bit high, at the top of the ball of the foot with some contact on the big toe as well. While usable 'as is', it is not an optimal installation save for the convenience factor of simply screwing it to the sheerclamp.
I've always thought these pegs were too small to be comfortable for me, so I've been adding on larger panels to spread out the load on my soft-soled booties. The one pictured here was about a 5"x 4"x 1/8" piece of PVC plastic when I took it out of my Coho. To fit this CLC I had to trim about 3/4" off the top outside corner to clear the deck, but the bottom still comes down low enough to be a comfortable fit to the foot.
And it's still adjustable, which is the main reason I went with these, at about $30 (total with tax), rather than make up a set of CLC designed pegs from wood, at $0 additional cost.
BTW, the two symetrical dark spots on the bulkhead are the pre-prepared future screwholes where the footpump will be mounted. On the frontside are towel-rod-like hardwood tiedown rails, so I can just use sheet metal screws from the cockpit side rather than fussing around with machine screws with nuts.
