I'm on my first boat - a Ches 18 - and the hull is together, sanded and ready for the fiberglass, the bulkheads are in and the inside is epoxyed with glass in the seat area. My question is how much epoxy is enough? From this BB it seems that beginners use too much. On glass cloth, should the surface be completely smooth, shiny and "plastic like" with no visible weave? On bare plywood should it likewise be smooth and shiny? Thanks for your help. I'm hoping (wishing) to coat the hull tomorrow but its supposed to be 0 (thats ZERO) degrees tonight and a high in the teens tomorrow - WAY cold for Maryland. My garage heater only kicks it 40 degrees which isn't quite enough for these temps. May have to watch football instead.
