I should clarify the discoloration problem: Sunlight and exposure to air over time is what caused my discoloration problem. Best advice is to plan out the steps involved over a 72 hour period AND not take your hull out into the bright sunlight like I did prior to saturation of the panels. Butt blocks are still the way I am going on the next boat because it gives me the luxury of time. The wood can oxydize all it wants as long as it all stays the same color.
