I'm new to kayak building and gathering as much info as I can. I've not used an offset chart before and am having difficulty understanding it completely. I'm reading 'The Strip Built Sea Kayak' by Nick Schade which seems excellent. However, having attempted to plot a form, although I think I understand the plot for hull buttocks in inches from the centre line, and waterline plots in inches from the DWL, I expect that a single plot for the DWL intersection with the Keel position should amount to the same point on the form but it doesn't. My interpretation is obviously wrong. This is probably second nature to many so I hope this doesn't sound too stupid. Can anyone help, or maybe point to a source of good explanation of the process. Thanks in advance. Peter
