Well, I went with the concensus of opinion and I went out and bought a flatbed scanner. With the sale price and a $30 rebate, I got it for $49.99. It was the cheapest thing I could find, it does 600 x 1200 dpi, 36 bit color. My younger daughter was with me at the time, she gave me a "...go for it." My older daughter saw it and said "COOL!", and when my wife got home from work, she wanted to know when I was going to have it set up so that she could try it for a project at work (she's a children's librarian). I guess it was a "smart" purchase but, somehow, I have the feeling that once I start building my boat, I won't be able to get at the scanner to send out any pics. Now all I have to do is figure out how to set up my web page (Hey Ross, what are you doing next weekend; can I buy you some cedar? How about a nice carafe of epoxy?) {;-o) Dennis
