Hi Ken,
There were a couple of posts recently discussing the advantages of putting a 1/4" bead on a narrower strip. The gist of it was that a full bead on a full cove would provide a perfect joint when flat but the more the junction was angled the more the joint would want to open up with the edge of the cove levering against the flat of the strip. Makes sense.
What about a 3/16" thick strip and a 1/4" bead?
