Bill -- I'm just on my first boat (S&G), but had saved a coffee can full of saw dust over the past year. I even went so far as to sift it to get it finer. I find that is still swells when mixed with epoxy and makes a rough finish. When I purchased my epoxy (from Raka), I spend the $5.00 for 2 pounds of wood flour (1# pine and 1# maple). Between the two I can get to most any color I need and it's really smooth. I haven't tried the oat or regular wheat flour, but have heard of others using the oat flour. Good luck, Greg
