Hi again Hank;

Hey, I'm not following you around, you just ask good questions! In early 1994 I built an outdoor project and coated it with *quality* polyurethane. 4 months later it was absolutely bare wood. I could not find even a trace of the finish I had applied so meticulously (multiple coats). Try it on a scrap piece of wood and you will never again trust it outdoors.
