Sounds Close to the idea that I had. Also sounds familiar, kind of like spackling foam insulation for piping. We do this at work, before covering with an aluminum skin.
In any case it sounds interesting.
I have been thinking about building a double canoe one of these days. I need something to replace the "Slowly but Surely" The slowly but surely is an old 4' wide by 14' long 100# plastic canoe. Maybe something like this construction, or a strip built probably.
