Deeds,
I found the stock seat in my Tern to comfortable for the first 20 minutes, then my legs went to sleep. I ended up 'carving' a 3" minicell foam block with a sander to form a custome seat. This new seat is very comfortable, and was very easy to make. It is about 1/2" to 3/4" thick under my butt. I use the Pygmy Thermarest as a backrest in my skin kayak, until I build a permanent one, for that kayak.
