Walter,

It sounds like you've got a good method there! Nice adaptation of existing materials to fit your needs.

I would think that the 1/4" threaded rod would be a bit angled...unless the inner-tube strips are anchoring on each end of the rod for equal tension (I assume this is the method?).

Please post the link to pictures of your method...I'd like to see it too!
