I think Rob states that he started out with stations 21 1/2 inches apart, then found the stations too wide apart for all woods (his strips are 3/16" wide). He then made half stations to fill the space. The lines of the kayak were made fair by a lot of shimming. When I had finished the boat, I cut up the forms and used them for other projects. I have no confidence in them. The plans were $125.00 I think Rob could have done better.
