Thanks all for the comments. I will hold onto the email addresses (did I spell that right?) in case I have questions later. I'm thinking that I will purchase the plans so that I have full size templates for the forms. I'm waiting for a reponse to email sent to Ted Moores about what was changed in the design, and also waiting on my copy of Canoe Craft. I haven't built a strip boat before, but have all the tools I need for milling strips, etc.
The other part of the question right now is finding out who in my area has suitable lumber. It looks like cedar is not easy to find here, except in the green fence board variety. I can get good dry Cypress, and clear Heart Redwood, but it will cost some nickels.
Lots of questions at this point, but going through the process of getting some of them answered.
