On my homemade router table, I did similar to Kent; cut a dado in the fence big enough for the bit. I use a 1-1/2" x 3" x 24" fence. Then, on the opposite side of the fence as the bit, I position the crevasse (sp?) tool from the shop vac, and attached it with two long screws and a scrap of wood. With the vac pickup right into the back side of the fence, it gets all the chips, and does a remarkably good job for such low tech. I'd post a pic if I could, sorry.
