hi Chris, not to be outdone obsessing on things I installed the T-nuts flush to the hull with 4 layers of 2" strips of 2" unidirectional 10oz carbon tape. Had to cut the four tangs off of the nuts. For all the epoxy mess I was able to mount the nuts and aluminun runners closer to the hull,definately not worth the effort.
