I haven't used the 6566, but I used 1088 for my hull and doorskins for the deck. Had I known about the 6566 option, I would have used it throughout.
Like Tom said, the only difference between the 4mm 1088 and 6566 is that the 1088 has 1.5mm faces and the 6566 has 1mm faces--very insignificant. Noah's marine website says 1088 is A-B grade, and 6566 is B-BB grade. I think the B face is much more beautiful than the A-face anyway. It doesn't have knots, but the grain is more irregular and really beautiful under glass.
I would venture to guess that on a scale of A to Z, 1088 is A, 6566 is probably D, good doorskins are P, and bad doorskins are Z!
There should be a far greater difference between lauan doorskins and any marine plywood than between good marine plywood and great marine plywood. Byron mentioned that he didn't have any voids--voids and crumbly end-grain for the middle ply, and a super-thin face ply ( For 4 mm thick panels it appears that the difference is perhaps ultrasonic
