> Hi Ken, the low calorie method is to just use clear silicone. It will work just fine and peel right off the varnish whenever you refinish. The only slightly fixated method is to drill,screw,withdraw, inject unthickened epoxy into holes,let cure,redrill if necessary,then screw with silicone. Then again there's always the I-don't-have-enough-little-stainless-hardware-method which is to use the same loop of webbing except mount machine screws,nuts,and washers a little inboard and next to the shear clamp through the deck(with little glass patches and epoxy soaked into endgrain. Next boat I think I'll just cut slots into the deck and glue the webbing on the inside. -lee
