I know how you feel, I recently finished a Guillemot S&G, I also recently became unemployed, and I live within a stones throw of the water.
My wife gets up around 6am to go to work, she has a look outside and wakes me if the weather's good. Summer's just finished here and the weather has been perfect more times than not. 15 minutes later I'm on the water, I do about 8km down the Georges River to Botany Bay and back (I'm in Australia).
I've been going for a paddle at dawn 2 or 3 times a week for the past month or so. It doesn't get boring no matter how often you do it. I'll have a job before long, I know this has been to good to last....
