I am ready to put another epoxy fill coat on the outer hull of my West River, but It has been over a week since the last coat. I assume that the last coat is fully cured, so I have sanded the entire hull, but there are still hundreds of small indentations left from the unfilled fiberglass weave, plus small irregularities elsewhere (1-3mm in diameter).
I have read that in order to ensure a good mechanical bond, the surface needs to be roughened but the indentations are glossy, and I can't really sand anymore without cutting into the glass.
Will these form fisheyes, or fail to bond? Should I just go right over them? All I can think to do now is to use a wire brush to painstakingly degloss them.
Thanks for your help, Will
