I agree with Larry: Get to work! The Ice is starting to melt here in NY. The most important tools in kayak building are: your own brain, the low-angle block plane and the Cabinet Scraper.You won't believe the amount of skill you will pick up with a small amount of practice with these tools.

Epoxy cure time is more temperature than skill level, so go ahead and get at it!

Be your own judge! It's all in the execution. I have a really cheap plane and a really good ($6.00)cabinet scraper.
