NOT from the table edge or you'll sand 4in into the table (duuuhhh).
You can also make a pencil mark 4 in away from the top pcs end and then you can get 3 things to line up when doing this. The mark, the intersection, and the lowest pt of the low strip. Just be careful not to wonk side to side.
