Rod holders!? I would think cup holders would be of primary concern, for your favorite malt beverage ;-)

Seriously, though, I would recommend getting a pair of Sea Wing sponsons. They are inflateable tubes that attach to each side of your kayak via snap-buckles that you attach to your deck fittings in advance. They were designed to be an alternative to paddle floats for solo re-entries, but would be great for fishing. Go out to your favorite fishin' spot, attach and inflate the sponsons in only a few minutes, and you have a kayak that's 1 foot wider and much more stable. Cost is about $100 including shipping. I have a pair, but have not yet (nor do I really hope to) needed to use them in real-world conditions...

A cheaper option would be to just use your paddle and float as an outrigger while fishing.
