I used multiple layers of 3.25 oz. satin weave glass from Raka and about 1 gallon of epoxy. You can check out Raka at http://www.raka.com/ . They are based in Florida and I had everything shipped to Tacoma Washington, shipping wasn't much at all. I prefer using Raka epoxy, it is easier to work, as it is much thinner than other epoxies. Combined with the satin glass, I ended up with a strong 33 pound kayak.

As far as plywood is concerned, I got it at Eagle Hardware, the are owned by Lowes (sp?) from out east. When you find your plywood, look for even thickness in the plys, and hold it up to a light to try to spot any voids. In all of my cutting I only found one void, the size of the head of a pin.

The plans that I used were actually for a skin kayak, a Putz Walrus. So instead of it being a stich and glue, it is a plywood on frame. Look in the archives for more info on my project.
