I didn't built my skeg yet. I just collected the info. I did however created a cardboard mockup to prove the theory, & it works.

I went to a kayak shop & looked at "real" skegs. I also put a piece of paper on few of them & copied the form & the size.

i measured the skeg locations on few kayaks & made an average - that's where I'll install it on my kayak (coho).

Unlike the sk article, I intend to create the skeg from 4mm marine plywood saturated with epoxy, but NOT glassed. the reason is: when I hit something in the water (& I know myself - I WILL hit something sooner or sooner) I preffer the skeg to crack & not the housing or the hull.
