Thanks Mick,
I was thinking somewhere between 1/16" to 1/8" myself. I'm trying to balance between having too much slop and chatter versus getting sand wedged in there. One of the KBBB builders, I can't remember who right now, sent an e-mail saying that he had a problem with sand binding up the skeg. Sometimes tight is not a good thing.
