I mixed up some epoxy and added wood flour to it. Then I went all over the deck of my kayak with a microscope filling in any gaps I could find. Many times I was only filling a little speck, but the epoxy would get on the wood in maybe a 1" x 1" area. I put it on with a putty knife and scraped of the excess, but the wood got wet with resin. The resin hardened and now I can easily sand it flush. My question is; do I need to sand off all of the excess resin down to bare wood again, or can I just sand it smooth. I'm just wondering if the resin spots will end up a different color since the wood at these locations won't get as saturated when I put on my sealer coat of resin.
Thanks, Dale
