Any body out there see any problems that I might encounter if I use a length of 50x25x3mm (2"x1") box section steel for the back bone of the former that I have intentions of building. The plan is to build a Gt Auk. The steel is a left over from another project, and being of a disposition to save money, I thought that it might do the job. I've lofted out the sections from the tables in Nicks book and started to cut out the ply, and am looking forward to starting the process of stripping the hull and decks up. I have NZ Kauri and some other odds and ends left over from other boat building. However will need to go on a mission to find cedar as well. Regards to all. Don
