But what is that 'something'? If some guy walked up to you on the street and said, "Here's a free diamond. Take it with my blessing," would you really assume it was genuine, or would you take them to a jewler to see if it was cubic zirconium? I would have it checked out to find its value before committing any of my own cash to have it mounted.

I find it odd that someone who used to charge $200 for one kayak's worth of advice would be posting his best stuff for free -- especially when the posting is just titled 'Free', with no text on why he thinks it's a good design and why you should build it. It appears more like: 'Go on, I dare you to build it...'
