I guess it was kind of late when I wrote the above message. The center Seam ,of course, runs in front of the cockpit not behind. As I think of it the butt blocks do not meet at the peak of the deck either. It looks like I will be doing the reinforcement blocks in front and behind too.
Thanks for all your good help. OH, by the way, I vote for partially clothed kayaking as a good compromise.
