: BoatBuilder's Manual lists layups for: "heavyweight cruiser" GGGGG
: "good compromise" GGGG
: "lightweight racer" GGG
: Each G stands for 1 layer of 10oz plain glass in polyester resin. Extra
: layers are added at high stress points
: Compare these base layups to your layups (I will list a few but you get to
: pick you can even include some of mine)
: 6oz/.187/6oz
: 12oz/.187/12oz
: 6oz/.250/6oz
: 12oz/.250/12oz
: for "lightweight" and "durability"
: ----------
: we know it will not happen
What is the point in comparing a polyester/fiberglass whitewater layup with an epoxy/glass/strip sea kayak? George, it really is time for you to make some panels of various layups and share with the group as it were how they fair in a stress test of your choosing. It certainly would put things into perspective.
