: BoatBuilder's Manual lists layups for: "heavyweight cruiser" GGGGG

: "good compromise" GGGG

: "lightweight racer" GGG

Pardon My ignorance and total lack of engineering, but, are these terms for kayaks ??? They sound like large, fast "heavies." Or have I missed something? This "boat builders manual"....... what background do these folks have in the specific area that we are talking about?? What do they say about a 30 to 45 lb. boat being paddled at roughly 2 to 4 mph? I'll have to purchase this book and look up the kayak section and see how they compare stresses to their "lightweight racer" in mph, weight, and stresses on same. I'm sorry George, but, I don't get the comparisons. Nor do I know what exactly qualifies these folks as experts of such light craft if all they mention is cruisers, racers. I fail to see any similarities, and therefore would hesitate to use their information as a credible source on "ultralight" paddled craft. That would be like a B-1 bomber designer and builder recommending his construction methods for a successful ultralight aircraft. ????? At least, that's the way us untrained, uneducated, non-engineers might your info. ???

Might work, but, what overkill.

Sounds like, to me, that you are comparing apples to oranges. They're both round, and they're both fruit, but, they grow with different resources, nutrients, and are used in and with different situations/results. ???

Hmmm!! Here I am standing in a mine field, without a flak vest or sweeper. Time to say good day folks, and Have a Happy Easter. :)
