In Response To: Proper gluing technique- OT (Bruce)
Hi Bruce, never having made a cold-molded boat I would venture to guess that long staples over steel or plastic packing ribbons would provide a continuous and easy to remove fastener. Just be careful when removing them as I hear they fly far (the staples). Oh, and an appropriate thickener,Cabo-sil/fumed silica? Check out Boatbuilding Community.com for more experienced folks on this one. ps. I met a guy that was building a 43 ft. Roberts sloop about 5yrs after making a guillemot. Although the sloop was much, much more work he seemed to hold more affection for the Guillemot. So what kayaks are you planning on building?
