Dave, I work for an RV manufacturer. We use a lot of vinyl-coated (wallpaper appearance) paneling. It's available in 2.6 mm and 3.7 mm thicknesses. The vinyl can be stripped off with some elbow grease. I think it is available at many lumberyards. I'm sure it would be too pricey for boat-building if you have to buy new. However, if you inquire with remodelers for wrecked out materials or ask at lumberyards for damaged and odd lot peices you might find something affordable. Luck, Tom.
