In Response To: Tall Farmer John Wetsuits? (G. Snapp)
Hi G., one of the things that people overlook in wearing farmer johns is their relative uselessnes in insulating the shoulders and upper chest. If it's cold enough to require a wetsuit and the wetsuit is being used to protect you for longer than 1/2 hr,and you are swimming in that toasty 62 degree Big Sur water I'd recommend a layer of fuzzy rubber over the torso and shoulders or a neoprene vest. Another item that's very versative and easy to store is a fuzzy rubber hood, it can fit in a pfd pocket or on your neck but will go a long way towards delaying hypothermia.
