I'm not too worried about the mold; I just haven't come up with the boat geometry yet. If you haven't heard of compounded plywood yet, it consists of cutting out two hull halves, joining them along the keel, and then opening it like a book and supporting the result while you tape the keel seam. The plywood is forced into compound curvature, so you get a round bottomed boat from plywood. It's just difficult to get the geometry you want. CLC has some designs (Pokomoke, Yare) but with these the plywood bends mostly near the keel, so you get a sort-of deep vee hull with a lot of flare. Stillwater boats has a nice looking hull section, but they get it by cutting gores (notches?) alond the gunnels. When these are closed they leave discontinuities along the shear. With your masonite mold you could maybe smooth these out also.
