you failed to equip your kayak with the "butt first" feature. you know ?..... first the butt, & then squiz your legs into the kayak. what a great feature. when it's calm I release the skirt, lean backward & put one leg out on the deck, to strech it while I paddle.

The west grinlanders would have done it too if they had spray skirts.

Home depot often have "A clamps" for $1 .
