Hi Earl,

If you use the right amount of water while wet sanding you can get away with using a finer grit of paper. You don't need a flood but you should not be making "mud" either.

What grit you use depends on a lot of things - how hard is the surface being sanded, how "open" is the paper, are you sanding by hand or by machine etc. etc. If the paper is clogging go coarser, if not try a finer grit.

Fine paper with lots of small sharp cutting edges removes more material than coarse paper.

With FULLY cured [at least a week] West Systems epoxy I have been using 180 grit paper for most of my wet sanding [initial and interm coats of epoxy are scraped with a carbide scraper] finishing up with 220 and 340 in preparation for varnishing/painting.

Might have to use a different grit of paper for the Raka epoxy that I am using now - will have to see.
