I just walked past a display of these things at the local Menard's Hardware. they want $2.05 for a 3/4 inch wide strip 8 feet long. They also had a strip that was 2 inches wide and 8 feet long for $3.47, and a 24 inch by 96 inch piece for $16.86.

If the thinner stuff won't bend easily enough to follow the upsweep at the bow, use some of the wider material and simply cut a 3/4 inch wide, curved strip from it. The wider material is a better buy anyhow, as long as you cna cut it accurately to the size you want with a utility knife and straight edge.

You could get 32 strips, each 3/4 of an inch wide, from that 24 inch wide material, for a price of about 52 cents each. Or, you could buy 5 or 6 of the 3/4 inch strips, already trimmed and ready to go, for about $10 to $12. They had birch, red oak, and mahogany and I think a few other species, too.
