I used System Three water based paint on my home built sailboat. Less toxic for sure, but I think synthetic enamel auto paint is just about as durable and cost less too. I've used this auto paint on hobie cats, and two kayaks, and plan to use it on the kayak I'm building now, mostly because it's cheaper and seems to hold a wet edge a little longer while spraying, that might be because I'm more use to it rather than S3 lpu. Happy painting!

: I am planning to paint the hull and varnish the deck of my Arctic Tern when
: construction is complete. I'll be using Z-Spar Flagship on the deck and
: have been looking at the S3 water-based topcoat for the hull. They claim
: it is easier to use and less toxic than other 2 part lpu products like
: AWLGRIP amd Interlux but still very durable. Can anybody out there share
: their experience with the S3 lpu paint? Does it perform as advertised?
: Thanks
