Going in to the cockpit with the boat inverted is absolutely the way. It made filleting the aft side of the forward bulkhead of my 'Tern a snap, even though Pygmy said it would be difficult and to ignore doing it (which it would have been in the upright position). This was also true for filleting the aft side of the aft bulhead -the hatch being just big enough to be able to poke my head & one arm into. Interesting the way a change in orientation affects our perception.
