Have finished planing my cedar strip canoe and am ready to fill cracks and gaps before sanding the hull. Quite simply, what works best. Have been told and read about using epoxy and saw dust...number one, takes too long to get all the different colors of saw dust accumulated and have heard that the epoxy dries much harder than the cedar and makes for uneven sanding after it has dried. Heard somewhere also about using a water based wood putty and either mixing stain or again, saw dust with that according to the various colors of wood strips needing to be filled. Could someone offer what they know works and what they feel truely might be the best method for all this??? Thanks to who ever writes back!!!
