: I can't imagine doing enough sanding on my own with what cedar scraps I have
: left inorder to get near the amount of saw dust needed for mixing glue for
: all the cracks I need to fill on my boat. Are there retail sources for
: "wood flour"...needing very light/blonde, pinkish and light
: brown and dark chocolate brown shades of western red cedar to finish all
: the filling before I start to sand...where can I get this stuff? Oh...and
: thanks to all of you for writing back in answer to my original question!!!
if you are filling cracks on the outside of the boat you should go with wood flour... "only if they are visible" but if you don't need them to look perfect... use regular baking flour... it's just as fine and although it's not made of celulose as wood is it works just as well as a thickener/filler. it gets a little darker... kinda a light yellow colour, kinda like tightbond would glue. it's also cheaper then all get out
