I agree whole heartedly. Louise and I waited for the the hatches to be cut and then did a small fillet, allowed the fillet to dry, and taped the deck from about one foot short of the bow to about one foot short of the keel (thet's how far we could reach from the hatch openings). We ran out of tape thanks to the fact that we added more seams to the deck, so we cut up our leftover 6oz glass into 2"-3" strips and used that. It was much easier than the tube on a stick thing and we taped more of the seam which adds to our piece of mind.
