I was considering adding graphite powder to the resin on the hull of a schooner am building. It seems, graphite makes the hull slide against other things. It will not help you go through the water better... according to those I have talked to.

It is good where parts need to slide: like center board trunks

: Graphite added to the resin makes a good, hard finish, although if you put on
: a pure epoxy coating of the same thickness it would probably protect the

: The graphite will not significantly increase or decrease the drag. Just
: coating the bottom should provide the protection needed.
