hi Rehd, summer hit today with a boom. 20 degrees higher than yesterday, finished with a thunderstorm. i'll agree with your assessment, the graphite actually makes a softer coating,I'm going by the pencil like marks on the concrete and a chunk that chipped off a thickened section on a skid strip I laid down. Graphite/epoxy coats simply make a kind of slippery sacrificial gel coat. I think the choice is either more fabric or different fabric within the epoxy matrix. Making the epoxy itself harder won't necessarily translate to better abrasion resistance since a lot of abrasion is from fairly hard material to begin with, in other words rocks. But fibers in the epoxy that don't break off from friction or impact will do more for abrasion resistance than a few mils of epoxy.
