an easy method, glass with 6oz, let cure to green, mask with tape that leaves very little residue at the chine joint, lay on 4oz.,wetout. Be neat and wipe up any messes. when it cures to green cut CAREFULLY with a razor at the edge of the tape, take up tape, scrape edge if needed, more fill coats. I laid down about 6 narrow layers of 4oz on the bow and stern of a friends boat, the wood grain wasn't visible but from a distance the wood color showed through fine. The other method would be a little easier from a fairing in standpoint, seal wood, tape and lay 4oz and stem pieces, remove tape, let cure, sand feather edges, then glass with 6oz. without trying to over lap the ends. hmm haven't done it that way but it sounds neater after the 6oz goes on.
