: Either the scraper or a light once over with 150 grit on a ROS. Remember the cloth and subsequent saturation coats will fill a lot of uneveness. As for your "grain pattern" I suspect that it is a bit of differential absorption as well as perhaps a variation in the amount of the epoxy in that area. As long as you didn't miss the area entirely, I wouldn't worry. Good luck, the Tern is a great boat to build (I just finished!) Cheers
