Ralph,

How wide did your strips end up being? And how many forms did you use? It looks like far less than average for a strip-built, did this cause any problems? Was the spacing about every two feet? I am asking because I might want to do a strip-built Walrus, but it only has 6 forms.

: There are some really nice kayaks on this board, and while mine is not so
: artistic it is a different style so I'll post it.

: This is the single version of Tsunami from the David Hazen book. 16' x
: 22" the coaming was supposed to be 13" high but turned out
: closer to 15" I think because after glassing the deck it spread out
: an inch or so while we went sailing for the weekend, check the link and
: you'll see the spanish windlass contraption needed to pull it together and
: making it taller than it should be. Has this happened to anyone else? Used
: pine lattice strips ripped in half on a band saw. Finished weight is
: 55lbs, tracks better than my Yare with about the same stability. Did'nt
: bother with hatches, we don't take many long trips and just put the cooler
: or whatever behind us. Pretty fun to build and now I really admire the
: boats posted here.
