: The recent posting about insurance and the fact that my kayak is getting
: close to being finished has got me thinking about how best to secure it. I
: was thinking of a strong stainless steel cable through one of the hand
: toggle holes. I realize that if someone really wants to steal a kayak,
: they'll find a way, but I don't want to make it easy for them. Any
: suggestions?
I purchased a security cable that has a loop on each end. Simply slip one end over the bow and one over the stern, wrap around your locking roof rack and lock. It is a very nice system available in California. I don't have the address handy but I tracked them down through REI. If you can't find an address I will see what I can come up with.
