I built a Chesapeake 17' last spring and used it all last summer. I really enjoy my boat except that it has a tendencey to turn 90 degrees to the wind (high wind). I'm sure that this is due to my having built my deck 1.5 inches higher than spec. I bought a rudder kit yesterday, but there were no directions. Nor can I find my CLC manuals. (I moved once since then, you know how that goes)
Anyway, my question has to do with the cables. Do they run along the outside of the deck until the cockpit and then enter the cockpit through the deck? How are the cables afixed to the boat? Same as bungies are? How is the rope for raising and lowering the rudder afixed to the boat?
